Meet the Miami Gardens Team Behind Vance Gate Repair Miami Gardens
We’re the crew that shows up when your gate won’t close at 10 p.m. or your opener starts grinding like a coffee maker full of rocks. Four of us handle most of the calls in Miami Gardens and the surrounding neighborhoods, and what ties us together is simple: we treat residential gates with the same documentation habit Adrian developed on commercial access-control jobs starting in 2014. Written price before work starts. Photo record before we leave. No exceptions.
Our People
Adrian Vance, Owner & Lead Technician
Adrian started this company in 2014 after a decade of wiring commercial access-control systems for warehouses and distribution centers in South Florida. He still carries that commercial-grade documentation habit on every residential call, which is why you’ll get a photo log of what was found, what was adjusted, and what was replaced, even if we’re just resetting a limit switch on a swing gate in Norland. He holds a Florida Electrical Contractor license and specializes in troubleshooting intermittent faults, the kind where a gate works fine nine times and then refuses to close on the tenth. Off the clock, Adrian restores vintage motorcycles and has a running bet with Marcus about whose 1980s Japanese bike will actually start on a Monday morning.
Marcus T., Senior Installer
Marcus joined us in 2017 after six years installing aluminum fencing and gates across Broward and Miami-Dade counties. He handles most of our new gate installations and motor replacements in Miami Gardens, from single-family homes near Florida Memorial University to small commercial properties along NW 27th Avenue. He’s certified by LiftMaster and FAAC for operator installation, and he’s the one who checks that every post is plumb and every hinge is greased before he calls a job complete. Marcus grew up in Carol City and still lives there with his two kids; he knows which soil conditions in that area tend to shift gate posts after heavy rains, and he accounts for it in his footings.
Darnell K., Service Coordinator
Darnell answers the phones and schedules the calls, but he’s also the reason a live person picks up at 2 a.m. when your sliding gate won’t open and you’re stuck in your driveway. He’s been with Vance Gate Repair since 2019, and he knows the nine automation brands we service well enough to ask the right questions before dispatching a technician. That means fewer wasted trips and faster fixes. Darnell is certified in FAAC and BFT diagnostic protocols, so he can walk a homeowner through a quick safety check while the truck is en route. He coaches youth basketball at Scott Park on weekends and has a photographic memory for customer gate histories, which comes in handy when someone calls back about a repair we did three years ago.
Elena R., Apprentice Technician
Elena came to us in 2022 through a Miami-Dade trade program focused on automation and access control. She works alongside Adrian or Marcus on most calls, learning to diagnose photo-eye misalignments, replace torsion springs on overhead gates, and program remotes for every brand from Ghost Controls to DoorKing. She’s already taken the lead on her own service calls for straightforward repairs in the Miami Gardens area, and she’s working toward her Electrical Contractor license. Elena grew up in nearby Opa-locka and speaks Spanish with the homeowners who prefer it, which is more common than you’d think in this market. She keeps a notebook of every gate she’s worked on, with sketches of unusual hinge configurations she’s never seen before.
One Standard, Every Job

The four of us are part of a larger network of gate repair professionals operating under the Haven Standard, but this Miami Gardens crew is independently run and accountable to the customers we serve here. That means Adrian’s name is on every job, and the 365-Day Done Right Promise applies whether he did the work himself or Elena handled it under supervision. We don’t hand you off to a call center or send a subcontractor you’ve never met. When you call (786) 789-0087, you get Darnell or Adrian, and when we dispatch, you get a text with the technician’s name and photo before they arrive. The written price, the photo documentation, the one-year guarantee, those aren’t marketing language. They’re Clause 1, Clause 4, and the Done Right Promise, and we apply them on every visit to every gate in Miami Gardens.
